About the job

Most driving jobs make you choose between decent miles and seeing your family. Regional work out of Chicago is the compromise that actually holds up: the Midwest has enough freight density that you can run steady miles inside a few hundred miles of home.

LVA Logistics Inc is an American-owned and operated, asset-based carrier in Hazel Crest, Illinois. We own the trucks and employ the drivers — we are not a broker. Our fleet covered just under 3.3 million miles in 2025.

Where you will run

Regional lanes through Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan, Iowa, Minnesota, Ohio and Missouri, with Hazel Crest as your home base. If you later want longer runs to Texas, the Southeast or the coasts, that work exists here too — you are not locked in.

What you will be doing

  • Running regional truckload freight from the Chicago area.
  • Pulling flatbed or step deck, depending on what you prefer. Never worked open deck? Say so on your application — we train you.
  • Securing loads to FMCSA standards. Tarps, straps, chains and corner protection are supplied.
  • Completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections and keeping your electronic logs current.
  • Working with one dispatcher who knows your name and your home-time requests.

What you need

  • Valid Class A commercial driver's license.
  • 21 years or older.
  • One year of verifiable OTR experience preferred. Recent CDL school graduates are considered when the fit is right — say so on your application.
  • Acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Current DOT medical examiner's certificate.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

What we offer

  • Home time most weeks. You tell your dispatcher what your schedule needs and the freight gets planned around it. If we cannot make a week work, we say so up front instead of stranding you.
  • Weekly pay by direct deposit. Drivers typically take home $2,500–$3,500 a week, consistently, with all miles paid. No held-back settlements.
  • Consistent miles. 30 trucks means the freight is spread across fewer drivers.
  • Your own assigned truck. Brand-new, ELD-equipped, no slip-seating.
  • 24/7 roadside support nationwide, answered by a person.
  • Securement and tarping training if you move onto flatbed work.

Pay

$0.80 per mile, paid weekly by direct deposit — no held-back settlements. Drivers typically take home $2,500–$3,500 a week, consistently, with all miles paid. That's open-deck money, comfortably above what most dry van work pays for the same miles. Your recruiter confirms the exact numbers for your specific lanes on the first call. Call (630) 895-5050 and ask directly.

How to apply

Four things: your name, your phone number, how long you have been driving, and a photo of the front of your CDL. No account, no password, no resume.

We verify your CDL is active automatically. If it is, our AI calls within 30 seconds for a short initial interview. If that goes well, we check your MVR instantly, and a live recruiter calls within 1 business day to coordinate your start — most drivers are onboarded and rolling the same day.
